play for television by Dale Wasserman appeared that became a musical “Man of La Mancha” owing to the
music of Mitch Leigh and libretto of Joe Darion, then it was translated in many languages. French
Don Quixote is Jacques Brel, Russian is Vladimir Zeldin, who recently impressed all by his acting and
me by his singing in a play “Man of La Mancha” – the actor is 90.
I have performed a variant of leitmotif song of this musical “The Impossible Dream (The Quest)” with
words of Brel. My Quixote is unexpectedly guitar as usual. But why unexpectedly? He is Spanish.
